Sleeper base

Elastic connection between the concrete sleeper and the ballast bed

Optimized load distribution for greater track stability

Even load distribution reduces maintenance requirements and extends the service life of the track superstructure

Installed directly between the concrete sleeper and the ballast bed, the sleeper base ensures improved load distribution within the ballast bed. As a result, loads are absorbed more evenly, and track stability is sustainably increased. The reduced stress on the ballast leads to fewer tamping cycles and extended maintenance intervals. Particularly with regard to life-cycle costs (LCC), the elastic intermediate layer offers a decisive economic advantage.

Sustainable technology for global use

Less CO₂, less waste, and maximum adaptability

The Wirthwein sleeper sole also helps reduce vibrations and structure-borne noise. Thanks to our material-efficient injection molding technology, no manufacturing waste is generated during production, further optimizing the carbon footprint. The design, geometry, and material properties can be individually tailored to the requirements of various rail operators. This preserves proven functionality while ensuring global deployability.
