Peter Zürn and Thomas Klofac appointed to the Supervisory Board

Wirthwein SE is expanding its Supervisory Board as of September 1, 2025, thereby setting a new strategic course. With Peter Zürn, Wirthwein SE has gained a renowned expert in international sales management, and with Thomas Klofac, an experienced expert in primary pharmaceutical packaging industry and medical technology. The Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Marcus Wirthwein, welcomes the two new members to the Wirthwein SE Supervisory Board meeting at the end of September at the company's headquarters in Creglingen and looks forward to working with them in the new board, which is now made up of six members.

 

Since January 2023, Wirthwein AG has been operating under the name Wirthwein SE. Ingrid Wirthwein and Edmund Brenner, both members of the Supervisory Board, ensure important continuity in the family-owned company's Supervisory Board. Both have been members of the Supervisory Board since Wirthwein AG was founded in December 1998, with Edmund Brenner serving as Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board since then. Edmund Brenner's contacts in the financial sector and the economy have been of great importance to the Wirthwein family business for many years. In 2014, Winfried Seitz, former COO and CTO at BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH, joined the Supervisory Board. Winfried Seitz, who holds a degree in business administration, provides the committee with a comprehensive global customer perspective and his experience as an independent management consultant.

 

New Supervisory Board members Peter Zürn and Thomas Klofac 

Peter Zürn brings extensive experience to the board. After more than 42 years with the Würth Group, he is considered a sales strategist to the core. Zürn has held various international positions – from Australia to the Executive Board of the Würth Group. With his international sales expertise, Peter Zürn will make an important contribution to the Supervisory Board of Wirthwein SE in the future.

With Thomas Klofac, Wirthwein SE gains a proven expert in the medical field for its Supervisory Board. Klofac has more than 35 years of experience in the international arena with global production sites in the pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, and cosmetics sectors. His focus has always been on primary packaging materials and medical technology, such as plastic assemblies for nasal sprays, eye drops, and inhalers. Until December 2024, he was President of the Aptar Pharma Consumer Healthcare Division and Managing Director of the German and other international branches of Aptar Pharma. 

 

Wirthwein family business 

Marcus Wirthwein, Chairman of the Supervisory Board since May 1, 2024, following in the footsteps of his father Udo Wirthwein, who passed away on April 23, 2024, explains: “With Peter Zürn and Thomas Klofac, we want to reflect our strategic orientation in the composition of the Supervisory Board. I look forward to valuable input and continued good cooperation in our Supervisory Board.” He also speaks from the heart of his mother and Supervisory Board member: Ingrid Wirthwein is the one who has been at the forefront of the company for the longest time. Her career has been linked to the Wirthwein family business for over 55 years. Her top priority is to ensure that the company continues to be successful in the market in the future through forward-thinking and flexible management. 

 

Continuity on the Executive Board

Dr. Ralf Zander has been Chief Financial Officer at the family-owned company Wirthwein since mid-2020, and on May 1, 2024, he also took on the position of Spokesman of the Executive Board. Together with Chief Technology Officer Holm Riepenhausen and Chief Sales Officer Thomas Kraus, the trio of executives will continue to lead the company. Wirthwein is thus maintaining continuity in its operational management team.

 

General information about the Wirthwein Group

The Wirthwein Group, which also includes Bembé Parkett GmbH & Co. KG with 45 sales studios, generated total sales of €466 million in 2024. The company, which operates in the Mobility, Rail Infrastructure, New Energy, Home Appliance, Medical, and Interior Design sectors, is thus successfully holding its own in a challenging international environment.
